🧝 VineyardElf 🍷 WineryElf 🛰️ NanoSatelity
Elf Family · new member · 2026

NanoSatelity soon Satellite vineyard assistant. Sees your vineyard from orbit before you walk into the row.

PS. Our names are already on Mars — on the chips of the Perseverance rover and InSight lander. NanoSatelity is the next step: from the ground → to orbit → back to the vineyard. Inspiration: Winnica Pustkowie blog ↗

§ 01 / Why

A vineyard visible
from 500 km.

Droughts, downpours, temperature swings, May frosts. Traditional “intuition” is no longer enough — we need data.

NanoSatelity is the third brother in the Elf family. After VineyardElf (vineyard protection) and WineryElf (winery), here we have a satellite that looks at your parcels every few days and reports what’s happening.

From Pustkowie to Mars — it’s not a colonization metaphor. It’s about agricultural technology going up, and we want to be there when it does.

For whom
Small and medium vineyards in Poland (up to ~10 ha). Also: orchards, hop fields, cropland.
Sources
Sentinel‑2 (ESA), Landsat 9, Planet Labs. Private SAR and thermal data planned.
Format
Web dashboard + phone PWA + chat via Claude Desktop (MCP).
Integrations
VineyardElf, WineryElf, OpenSprinkler, Ecowitt, Fakturownia.

§ 02 / Features

Six layers, one view.

🌱
01 — NDVI

Plant health

Vegetation index from Sentinel‑2. Seasonal chart per parcel, comparison with previous years, alerts on sudden drops.

  • Resolution 10 m
  • Refresh every 5 days
  • History since 2017
💧
02 — Water stress

Deficit / irrigation

NDWI and NDRE indicators — where vines start conserving water and where there’s too much. Linked to rainfall forecast.

  • NDWI + NDRE
  • OpenSprinkler integration
  • Differential map per parcel
🌡️
03 — Thermal

Heat maps

LST (Land Surface Temperature) from Landsat — cold hollows prone to frost, hot slopes with grape burn risk.

  • Cold valleys
  • Hot slopes
  • Night frost maps
🍇
04 — Phenology

When bud break, when harvest

Growth model based on GDD (growing degree days) and satellite readings — precise phase prediction: bud break, flowering, fruit set, harvest.

  • GDD · prediction ±3 days
  • Per variety
  • 7-year history
🗺️
05 — Parcels & rows

Your vineyard map

Draw parcel boundaries once — the rest happens automatically. Scout Map inherits structure from VineyardElf, so nothing is entered twice.

  • GeoJSON import
  • VineyardElf inheritance
  • Rows · varieties · age
📡
06 — Alerts

Push to phone

“Southern parcel — NDVI dropped 18% in 10 days. Young vines might have an issue.” One meaningful message, not 40 useless ones.

  • Telegram · SMS · email
  • Sensitivity threshold per parcel
  • Zero noise mode

§ 03 / Assistant

Ask the Elf about your parcels.

Naturally.
In plain English.

NanoSatelity sits in the same chat as VineyardElf. Ask like you’d ask a person — the Elf reads satellite data and responds.

  • Which parcel grew the most this week?
  • Show me the thermal map from the night of May 14-15
  • Compare Bianca’s NDVI with last year
  • Where are vines conserving water the most this season?
Vineyard · Pustkowie 14:32 · on orbit
Which parcel deviates the most from the rest this week? 🍇
Parcel B‑02 (Solaris, 2021) — NDVI 0.54, while the rest of your parcels hold 0.68–0.74. Decline ongoing for 8 days, another ‑6% yesterday.

Night thermal OK, rainfall normal. Suggestion: inspect rows 4–7 from the south, shadow drops hardest there.

Marked in Scout Map → map.vineyardelf.com/a/scout-map. Last Sentinel‑2 pass: 20.04.2026, 11:07 UTC, 4% cloud cover.
Also ask VineyardElf if we have spraying scheduled there
§ 04 / How it works

Four steps. No magic.

🛰️
STEP 01

Satellite
passes over

Sentinel‑2 photographs your parcels every 5 days. We download only the tiles covering your vineyard — nothing unnecessary.

~ 5 min after pass
🧠
STEP 02

AI computes
indices

Our models extract NDVI, NDWI, thermal and phenology from the image. Compare with 7 years of history.

~ 15 min analysis
📊
STEP 03

Scout Map
updates

The map in your panel shows layers overlaid on your parcels. Click a parcel — see what’s happening.

STEP 04

Elf
calls / stays quiet

If nothing’s happening — silence. If something’s off, you get one sentence on your phone. No dashboards to log into.

§ 05 / Elf Family

§ 06 / FAQ

Frequently asked.

Does it only work with VineyardElf?+
No. NanoSatelity can run standalone — you just need a GeoJSON with your parcel boundaries (or draw them in Scout Map). If you already have VineyardElf, the structure syncs automatically.
How much does it cost?+
Beta '26 — free, no credit card. After beta, we plan VineyardElf-style pricing: free tier for vineyards up to 2 ha, paid subscription above.
Where do you get satellite data?+
Mainly Sentinel‑2 (ESA, free, 10 m, every 5 days) and Landsat 9 (NASA, 30 m, every 16 days — mainly thermal). For serious jobs we plug in Planet Labs (3 m, daily) — paid, but can be enabled per parcel.
Does it make sense for a small vineyard?+
Honestly: at 0.5 ha you can walk your vineyard in 15 minutes. From 2 ha up, satellite data starts catching things you won’t notice — frost hollows, uneven growth, water-stressed blocks. Above 5 ha it’s a daily tool.
What about clouds? Sometimes nothing’s visible.+
You’re right — Sentinel‑2 is optical, so above ~60% cloud cover the pixel is useless. From 2026 we’re adding SAR (Sentinel‑1 radar) that penetrates clouds — then you get raw soil moisture regardless of weather.
Is this a product from Pustkowie?+
Yes. NanoSatelity, VineyardElf and WineryElf are built at Winnica Pustkowie (Wołyńce‑Kolonia) — our vineyard is the test field. We test everything on ourselves first, then share with you.
